So sorry for the silence the last 10 days. I have been busy coordinating a 50th birthday picnic in the beautiful karoo town of Matjiesfontein. We had the most perfect weather and the location was beautiful. There is something so special about the karoo. I love the sky, fresh air and the sunsets. We chose the perfect menu for the day, a variety of local organic tastes and treats. The guests absolutely loved the food.
If you are looking for a venue out of town, then the Matjiesfontein Lord Milner Hotel, is the perfect location. They have beautiful lawns, shade and the staff is so friendly and helpful. There is enough accommodation for 100 guests and more than enough things to keep you busy. It is only 250km from Cape Town and the drive is enjoyable, especially this time of the year, with spring flowers everywhere.
Below is one of the karoo sunsets that we experienced during our stay. We will definitely be back again. Can not wait!
